"Ah, nice and sharp!" Calisto looked over her handywork with a proud smile on her face. She had spent over an hour polishing and sharpening her lance on the stone, and it gave her such a satisfying feeling. 'Nothing beats having a sharpened edge.'
The young burmecian stood up and peered out the window. She could hear the noises of shouting and hammering, which was a common occurance in Burmecia now. The builders were always working hard, reconstructing some of the old monuments that had fallen in the war. Most of the builders were unseen from her vantage point, but she noticed two burmecians working on the house across from her own, and immediately recognized that one of them was Kal, her "foster father" from Lindblum.
"Hey! Kal!" Calisto popped her head out from the window and shouted. The builder turned around and groaned loudly.
"What is it, Calisto?" He shouted back to her, dropping some decorative stones onto the ground. "Can't ya see I'm busy here?"
"I knoooow! Hold on-" She ducked out of the window and then, in a blink of an eye, jumped outside with lance in hand. Her armor clinked as she landed on the ground almost gracefully.
"You know, doors do exist for a reason, you silly girl." Kal laughed, and she couldn't help but grin back at him.
"I just feel bad to see you guys working so hard out there. You should take a break."
"Well, the rain has let up for once, and we just want to take advantage of that." Kal replied with a shrug. She nodded.
"Aw well, how about later we go do something fun then? I found a supply of mead hidden in the basement, aaaand I also have a huge wheel of cheese someone brought over from Lindblum earlier. Maybe we can go have a little, uhm, party..?"
Kal laughed and shook his head. She pouted at that.
"And where would we do that, Missy?"
Calisto bit her lip, then looked at him almost sheepishly. "Well... The Grand Hall is pretty much done... How about there?"
"Hmmm..." Kal gave the young Dragon Knight a discerning look, but then burst into laughter when her pouting intensified. "Alright, alright. Just go tell the others. We need a lively old jig to get us in the spirits tonight."
"YES!" She raised her hands in the air triumphantly. Kal chuckled and shook his head, watching as the girl ran down the cobbled streets of Burmecia shouting at all the builders.
